In the event that there is excess cash, and subject to sufficient cash reserves being retained for sustaining and working capital needs, an additional dividend may be declared. To this end, a cash interim dividend of 8 cents per share (“cps”) was declared on 6 August 2018 (7 August 2017: 3 cps). On 11 March 2019, a gross cash final ordinary dividend of 6 cps (5 March 2017: 9 cps) was declared by the Company. Outlook With no major expansionary projects planned for 2019 and an ungeared balance sheet, Merafe is well positioned not only to withstand any market vagaries but to also take advantage of any growth opportunities that may arise.
